Description
A true rarity is the AHO caliber 1057, one of the rare hand-winding movements from August Hohl in Pforzheim, Germany, who sold watches under the label “Constanta”. Even when these movements can compete with Swiss movements, not many of them are still available on the second hand market.
The 10 1/2 ligne movement (measured 10 1/4 lignes) impresses by its classical construction and most of all by its sandwich construction, which was required for the indirectly driven center second hand. The angled plates are visually very appealing.
The screw balance is secured in two Super-Shock-Resist protection systems; on the dial you find the classic yoke winding mechanism. Both are typical features of a “better” movement.
